Let's not forget about Gary's birthday

Two weeks ago my husband turned 31 years old and so we celebrated accordingly. Meaning it was a fun but slow day because that's how old people celebrate. Just kidding, my love, just kidding. :)

Gary was still on Christmas break so we were able to sleep in, we went out for lunch and then strolled around the city. In the evening we met three other couples at one of our favorite ribs restaurants (Amadeus) where we filled our bellies and enjoyed the company of our friends. After our delicious dinner we came home to eat cake. I had spotted a tutorial on how to make a mustache cake on Pinterest that looked easy enough for me to give it a try. It was a success even though I was confronted yet again with the fact that I will never be able to properly frost a cake.

It was a fun day celebrating my love. Happy birthday, babe.

Ssometimes people put the cake in the freezer befor they start frosting. Or you could try putting the cake in the fridge for a couple of hours (in both cases wrap it in plastic wrap!).
And always make sure your frosting is at room temperature!! Maybe mix it a bit longer? If it is a buttercream frosting you should have your butter outside the fridge for at least a couple of hours.

Hope that helps? :p If not, I'll have to show you one day!
